Using your iPhone for treatment planning

Using your iPhone for treatment planning

Today I have “written” my ezine and three magazine articles using my iPhone to dictate voice notes in Evernote, then emailing them to Phillippa for transcription and forwarding to the publishers.

It occurs that a dentist could dictate a treatment plan via iPhone in exactly the same way – and that, using Snagit picture capture (as above), salient features from your practice management software, digital photos and x-rays could be added quickly and without major expense.

Add Camtasia to bring it all to life with a video commentary for the treatment plan.

What a fantastic way to differentiate yourself from the competition and make more effective use of your time.

    Hi Chris,

Just a thought – if you always stick the articles in one particular notebook in Evernote you could share this notebook with Phillippa meaning you don’t have to email them. She could upload the transcripts back to that notebook for you to check :-)

Dentists could expand on this and have a separate notebook for each patient and share it with them so they could retrieve photos, videos etc etc and upload anything back

I have started using the Fujitsu ScanSnap attached to Evernote and scan every piece of paper that comes into the practice and then shred it :-) No more huge boxes to cart to accountants etc :-) just share the relevant notebook :-)

I am working on also scanning in old paper notes for the patients and referral leters etc. Once I have a film scanner all the xrays can go in to and that’s the practice paperless :-)

If they use R4, they can do this directly I think. R4 have brought a version for the iPhone which links into the practice system.
